Your next step

Map the minimum connector permissions needed for the proposed records. Confirm delivery and acceptance milestones, current security controls and when access will be revoked before connecting a production tool.

Program overview

Mercor is an AI data company best known for its expert network. Its data program connects to more than 100 workplace tools, de-identifies data automatically and asks the seller to approve before anything moves.

Mercor says it prices on volume, the tools connected and depth of history, and issues payment on delivery of the anonymized dataset, described as typically two to four weeks after signing depending on processing.

In April 2026 Mercor confirmed it was affected by a supply-chain attack involving the open-source LiteLLM library. WIRED reported that Meta paused its work with Mercor, and the Wall Street Journal reported at least seven class actions, which Mercor says it strongly disputes. That does not rule Mercor out as a buyer, but security questions should be a standard part of any negotiation with it.

Meta paused its work with Mercor, and at least seven class actions followed; Mercor disputes the claims, according to WIRED, Business Insider and the Wall Street Journal.

Before requesting a company-data offer

Start with the official program page and a description of the records. Confirm the contract counterparty, permitted uses, exclusions, acceptance criteria and payment milestones before transferring data. Our security questions and broker or direct guide can help with that review.

Mercor: common questions

Is Mercor legit for licensing company data?

Mercor runs a public company data program with stated payment timing. It also confirmed a supply-chain security incident in April 2026. Treat it like any buyer: get terms in writing, ask specific security questions and compare its offer with others.

Did the Mercor data breach affect companies that licensed data?

Public reporting, including the Wall Street Journal, focused on data about contractors; we have not seen reporting about licensed company datasets. If you are considering a deal, ask Mercor directly what changed in its security program and write those commitments into the contract.
